I've been feeling something new...

I can finally feel my little passenger wriggling! As the weeks ticked by I was starting to worry just a tiny bit. I know that it can take longer to feel movement in a first pregnancy, and it can take longer for the larger lady (ie. me), but I was kind of working towards the 18-22 week target that all the pregnancy books and websites seem to agree on. As it was, my little passenger was saving up for something special. I felt baby's first little flutters on Christmas Day (at 22 and a half weeks) when we got back to Mum and Dad's after spending the day with my aunt. At first I wasn't entirely sure if I was imagining things, but throughout the week between Christmas and New Year I felt more and more little wriggles, squirms and flutters. Yesterday, New Year's Day, was the best so far - we were out for dinner with some friends and I swear the littl'un actually did a somersault! What a Christmas gift. S and I have had a wonderful time seeing family and friends, and the last few days we've been hanging out at home together, enjoying just slobbing about, but the best thing of all about this Christmas has been the reminder that soon there will be three of us - a proper little family.

Happy New Year to all - I think 2011's going to be some kind of wonderful!
